Obituary of Rosemary Ohmann (Seghatoleslami)

Rosemary Ohmann (Rosemary Seghatoleslami), age 72 of Cranbury, NJ, passed away in her home after a short illness.  She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ann E. Ohmann (Gallagher) of Bergenfield, NJ.  

 

She attended the Holy Angels Academy in Demarest, NJ and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY where she earned her BS degree in electrical engineering.  Subsequently, she earned master’s degrees in applied mathematics and in operations research from Fairleigh Dickinson University. 

 

Rosemary started her career as an engineer at Bendix Corporation in Teterboro, NJ and also worked at Loral Electronics in Yonkers NY, Western Union Teleprocessing in Mahwah, NJ and a number of other firms.  In retirement, she became a parliamentarian and served as the parliamentarian for many organizations including NJ Nurses Association, NJ Student Nurses Association and NJ Education Association.

 

Rosemary was a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians and past two-term president of the NJ Association of Parliamentarians and past Region 1 Director.  She was also a member of the NJ State Federation of Women’s Clubs and served as two-term vice president and one-term president of the College District.  Rosemary was also a member of Philanthropic Education Organization (PEO) and served as the president of the NJ organization from 2023 to early 2024.

 

Rosemary was always involved in improving her community and the world, including volunteering over the years with Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, teaching religious education, and knitting prayer shawls at St. Anthony of Padua and St. Paul Parish. She loved music, and could be counted on to sing out, whether at sports games or hymns at church. Rosemary had a great gift for crafting, and her blankets, hats, and scarves were generously given as gifts to friends and family and to charities.

 

Rosemary is survived by her husband, Saied Seghatoleslami; her daughter, Mona Seghatoleslami and her husband, Randy Pollok, of Rochester, NY; her daughter, Leila Seghatoleslami of Cranbury, NJ; and her son, Joseph Seghatoleslami and his partner, Jennifer Marko, of Hamilton, NJ.

 

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Services at Glackin Chapel, 136 Morrison Ave., Hightstown, NJ.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, 251 Franklin Street, Hightstown, NJ. 

 

Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.
