Obituary of Henry A. Estenes

Henry A. Estenes, 94, of East Windsor, NJ, passed away at home on Monday, October 12, 2020, after a lengthy illness.

Born in East Windsor on the family farm, Henry was a lifelong area resident.  He was a second-generation farmer and has devoted his life to continuing the family legacy of Sandy Acres Farm.  Henry served on the Board of Directors for the Trenton Farmers Market for 65 years and as its President up until about five years ago.  He and his wife spent many years there building their business, making many friends as well as serving many loyal customers.  Henry was very devout in his faith and was a lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua RC Church where his father was a founding trustee of the church.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and an usher at mass as well.

Throughout life, Henry enjoyed woodworking and he built furniture and carved many bird decoys.  He hunted in the fall months and repaired farm machinery in the winter months.  He and his wife liked to travel, especially by cruise ship.  They loved to dance and would often go out even after a long day at work.

Predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Anna (Yanni), his wife of 54 years, Beatrice R. Estenes, and his nine brothers and sisters; he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Henry Stephen and Janice Estenes of Roosevelt; his daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen A. Estenes and Michael D. Orlando of Cranbury; his four grandsons, Erik Plumb, and Joshua, Anthony and Jacob Estenes; and his five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
