I am so blessed to have you as a mother. I am thankful you gave me the gift of faith and encouraged religion throughout my life. I am thankful that you loved to laugh up until the day you left this earth-laughter always filled our hearts. I am thankful you never ever overacted when I told you things most mom's would not want to hear, you always made me feel that I could tell you anything and it would be fine. I am thankful that you and dad always promoted our independence and ensured that we were well educated so that we could be on our own without worry. I am thankful for the big house we grew up in and you and dad reminding us how fortunate we were. I am thankful for you being a role model to give back to the community, you taught me the importance of giving where there is a need. I am thankful to you for taking in Lou when his parents relocated, you didn't even hesitate when I asked you if he could stay with us (although you and dad made it VERY clear that I was to stay downstairs and Lou would stay upstairs with the boys!) I am thankful for all of the good times we had especially the past two years when your health started to decline-I always enjoyed taking you out on outings, meeting so many people along the way, then the past few months sitting by your window (don't let the COVID in) as we laughed and reminisced about old times.
Most of all-I am thankful that I had you as my mother! I will miss you each and every day, life will never be the same. I feel your spirit around me and that comforts me more than you will ever know.
