Obituary of Ethel Mae Cameron

Ethel Mae Cameron (nee Drago), passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021, of COVID-19.

BELOVED Mother of Deborah (Gregg) Genovese, Donna Vetterlein (Brian Carlin) and Duncan;

CHERISHED Grandmother of Melissa D’Angelo Abramo, James Vetterlein, Anthony Genovese, Peter Vetterlein, Brett Vetterlein, Michelle Genovese Waite, Nicholas Genovese, Stephanie Genovese, Eric John Vetterlein, Christopher Cameron and Danielle Cameron; 

ADORING Great-Grandmother of Sophia Abramo, Anthony John Abramo, Ava Abramo, Michela Abramo, and Nico Abramo and

DEAR Sister of Annette Drago Pennhallurick of Kenmore, NY.   

Ethel Mae was born in Buffalo NY on June 5, 1932 to James and Marie Drago. Ethel Mae attended Syracuse University and married in 1952. In 1963 she moved from Buffalo, NY, to Glen Rock, NJ, where she raised her 3 children; volunteered at Valley Hospital and the Glen Rock Ambulance Corps; taught social studies at St Matthew's School in Ridgefield Park, NJ; and then worked for Rubin H. Donnelley in NYC as District Sales and Training Manager. She retired at the age of 70.  

Ethel Mae was an avid reader, a keen bridge player, a lover of life and of God. She treasured her family, chocolate, hot fudge sundaes, potato chips and summers spent at Cape Cod.  

She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, family, and she is cherished by all who knew her.

All service were held privately under the direction of Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Services at Glackin Chapel, 136 Morrison Ave., Hightstown, NJ.
