Obituary of John Harry Exner, Jr.

John Harry Exner, Jr, better known as Jack, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 21, 2021, all while surrounded by his family.

If you are from the Bordentown, NJ area, you know someone from the Exner family because the town has been home to many generations; past, present, and future. Jack was born on July 2, 1959 to Joan Ulmer and John Harry Exner, Sr. at St. Francis Hospital in Trenton, NJ. Jack's father, John Exner, Sr., also known as Jack or Pop-Pop-Pop, went home to be with the Lord on November 10, 2017. Jack leaves behind his mother, Joan Exner, also known as Nanny, 3 sisters; Judith Blakeslee (Judy), Jill Hilton, Jennifer Schroeder (Jen), and 2 brothers-in-law who were the brothers he never had; Michael Hauldridge (Mike) and Gregory Schroeder (Greg), all of whom reside in Bordentown, NJ. Jack was raised and lived in Bordentown, NJ for most of his life and 40+ of those years, he spent living on Mary St. in Bordentown City. He graduated from Bordentown Regional High School and married Faye Hendrickson in 1984. They shared 3 beautiful children together, Tammy Holley-Exner (Kareem Holley), Amy Exner, and John Matthew Exner before divorcing in 1997. From those children, Jack was given 4 grandchildren that he adored and lived for, especially his oldest who carried his namesake. His most precious and memorable moments were spent with his grandkids and they are Aiden John Negron, Omariana Holley, Ryan Holley, and Rylee Holley. Besides the grands, Jack leaves behind 3 more children, really his pets; Shadow, Dresden, and Dart, but he took such great care of them you would think they were his kids too! For the past 19 years, he delivered medications, pharmaceutical supplies, and installed medical equipment for Mast Pharmacy in Bordentown City, which allowed him to spread his infectious love and smile not only to the customers but to his coworkers or extended family, as he would say, his Mast Fam. From his siblings, Jack was a loving Uncle to Kristine Blakeslee, Jeffrey Morton, Jamie Selmon, Adam Morton, Heather Hauldridge, Tyler Zsenak, Ashlie Zsenak, Kylee Schroeder, Cody Schroeder, Cameron Schroeder, Jacob Hilton, and Kaelyn Schroeder (whom shared the same birthday as Jack). Jack loved sports, played as a kid, watched the next generations play on teams, and was a diehard fan of the Philadelphia Flyers, Philadelphia Seventy-Sixers, New York Mets, and Green Bay Packers. If he wasn't watching sports, he was outdoors making lifelong memories with his family at amusement parks, other recreational facilities, the NJ beach/bay, fishing and crabbing, hikes and nature walks, parks, STARR bus trips, and so many more places. He leaves behind tons of home videos and pictures to share with his family so they can remember all the places they went together and to continue on his legacy through them to pass on to future generations. He loved his family and would do all he could to make sure they knew they were loved and valued. His heart was huge and his love was pure, not many men like him. We will miss his beautiful eyes, silly jokes, late night conversations, day trips and vacations, but most of all... his voice. If you knew Jack, then you could understand him! 61 years was not enough but we are blessed to have been able to know you, learn from you, and call you family. We love you forever and always, you will always be remembered and live on through us! God bless and enjoy paradise Daddy, you deserve it! Until we meet again and I pray you will be right there waiting for us when God calls us home.
