Obituary of Rex J. Holder
Rex J. Holder, 78, of East Windsor, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022, at the Gardens at Monroe, in Monroe Township.
Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, Rex grew up in New York and then attended and graduated from Hampton University in Virginia. He served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. Rex came to New Jersey over 40 years ago, and resided in East Windsor for over 20 years. He worked for PNC Bank in Bensalem, Pennsylvania for over 15 years prior to his retirement. After retiring, Rex enjoyed being a substitute teacher in the Hightstown High School for the past several years.
Rex enjoyed fishing, reading, and playing handball. He was a former weight lifter. Rex was also a gifted writer having written many poems over the years and recently had a children’s book published, titled “Mack & Beans”.
Predeceased by his parents, James Earl and Ruth Rose (Richardson) Holder; and his sisters, Brenda and Sandra; he is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sylvia (Glasper) Holder; his children, Christopher Holder and his wife, Ella, Myleka Thompson, and Amira Thompson; his grandchildren, Ian Holder and Bryce Thompson; his brothers, James, Russell, and Anthony Holder; and his extended family including, Calvin Bower and Lala Bower.
Funeral services will be held at the Richard Harris Funeral Home, Zebulon, North Carolina with interment taking place at the Carolina Biblical Gardens, Raleigh, North Carolina.
