Obituary of Joseph E. Kurtz

Joseph E. Kurtz, 80, of East Windsor, passed away at home on Sunday, December 4, 2022.

Born in Manhattan, New York, Mr. Kurtz came to live in New Jersey. He graduated from St. Mary of the Plains College in Kansas with a bachelor’s degree in education.  Mr. Kurtz taught Math and Science in the East Brunswick school district for over 30 years before his retirement.

Mr. Kurtz loved trips to Atlantic City. In years past, he coached his sons at Little Lads and HEWYBL in Hightstown and East Windsor, as well as served as an umpire and referee.

Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Frances (Simon) Kurtz; he is survived by his sons and their spouses, James J. Kurtz and Angela Perez, Jeffrey and Allyson Kurtz, and John Kurtz and Danielle Juricic; his grandchildren, Avery, Logan, Reilly, Acadia, and Poppy; his sister, Eleanor Ghobrial and her family; and wife, Margaret Kurtz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 251 Franklin Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520.

Cremation services are private.
