Obituary of Evelyn T. Taussig
Evelyn “Lyn” T. Taussig, 87, of Monroe, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the Cranbury Center in Monroe Twp., NJ.
Born and raised in New Castle, PA, Lyn graduated from The Carnegie Technical Institute (now known as Carnegie Mellon). Lyn and her family lived in North Brunswick, prior to settling in East Windsor in 1974. She worked as a teacher assistant in Hightstown High School in the math resource lab for over 15 years until retiring in 1992. After her retirement, she resided in South Carolina and Southern California for several years before returning to New Jersey in 2008.
Lyn was creative and talented in many ways. In years past she enjoyed playing the piano and painted scenes on her windows for every holiday. She also loved road trips and going to see different waterfalls. She particularly enjoyed Bushkill’s Falls in Pennsylvania. In addition, Lyn enjoyed gardening and loved roses, azaleas and hydrangea. She enjoyed relaxing by doing puzzles.
Predeceased by her parents, Harding and Clarita Thayer; her husband, Thomas K. Taussig; her siblings, Louise Ludwig and Karl Thayer; and her son-in-law, Pastor Richard LaFever; she is survived by her children, Ann LaFever and Wayne Taussig; and her grandchildren, Spencer and Kate.
Cremation services were private. A Memorial Service will be held at a time to be announced.
