Obituary of Rose L. Boross

Rose Lena Boross, 97, of Monroe Township, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 at the Gardens at Monroe in Monroe Township.

Born in Port Reading, New Jersey, Rose came to Hightstown in 1955 with her husband Michael and raised four sons. Following the death of her husband in 1988 she retired to the Clearbrook Community in Monroe in 1995.  She worked at Roche Medical Electronics and RCA of West Windsor. Rose was proud to be a part of an RCA manufacturing team that assembled an electrical panel that went to the Moon in the Apollo Lunar Landing Module. Prior to retiring, Rose concluded her career in manufacturing working with the Song Bird Hearing Aide Company, in Monroe Township.

Rose was deeply devoted to her family, and at the age of ten took on the responsibility of helping to raise her younger sisters and brother after the unexpected death of their father. Trained as a seamstress, she worked in factories sewing uniforms for WWII soldiers, while enjoying making clothes for herself and her family. She loved to cook and bake, can vegetables, and knit sweaters, slippers, and afgans. She was a former member of the St. Anthony of Padua and Nativity of Our Lord R.C. Churches.

Predeceased by her parents, John Sciarpelletti and Anna Maria (Principessa) Sciarpelletti; her husband, Michael Boross Jr, and her siblings Augusta and Pauline. She is survived by her sons, Robert W. Boross and his companion, Mary Jacobsen, Michael J. Boross III and his wife, Consuelo, James G. Boross, and John M. Boross; her brother, Anthony Sciarpelletti and wife, Charlotte; her sister, Carmella Posaski and her husband, Edward Posaski; her granddaughter, Shekineah Opsteegh and husband, Paul Opsteegh, and great grandchildren, Tyler and Aiden.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Services at Glackin Chapel, 136 Morrison Ave., Hightstown, NJ.

A funeral service will follow, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Interment will follow at Princeton Memorial Park in Robbinsville.
