Obituary of Gloria Esther Perez

Gloria Esther Perez, 85, of East Windsor, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Cayey, Puerto Rico, Gloria resided in New York City before moving to East Windsor in the early 1980’s.

She worked as a caregiver at Better Beginnings Child Care Center in Hightstown for 20 years having been awarded "Employee of the Month", recognizing her dedication to the children in the community.  Gloria was a member of the Latina Women's Council, Hightstown-East Windsor Chapter and was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church.

Predeceased by her parents, Salome Diaz Rosa and Maria Soto Diaz; her husband, Ismael Perez; her son, Jose E. Colon; her sister, Petra Rivera and her brothers, Valentine Diaz and Angel Luis Diaz; Gloria is survived by her children and their spouses, Luz Nereida and George Horta, Minerva Trinidad, Nilda Garcia, and Ricardo and Mimi Perez; her 13 grandchildren; her 24 great-grandchildren; her great-great-granddaughter; and her nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, April 8, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Services at Glackin Chapel, 136 Morrison Avenue, Hightstown, NJ 08520.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 251 Franklin Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520.

Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hightstown.
