Obituary of James W. Grbac
James W. Grbac, 69, of Hightstown, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.
Born in New Brunswick, NJ, James has been a long time Hightstown resident. He was the former owner of the New Egypt Speedway and in years past was passionate about auto racing. Most recently Jim worked as a sales associate for various local auto dealerships.
In his earlier years James attended art school, performed as a DJ, and played the drums in a wedding band. He was a talented artist whose main focus was on drawing and designing cars. He was a longtime devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Hightstown where he served as a Deacon for many years and enjoyed singing in the choir and playing the bells. James’ most cherished moments were spent enjoying time with his family.
Predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Theresa (Mezzaros) Grbac and his second wife, Nancy; he is survived by his wife, Donnaree (Townsend) Grbac; his three children, James and his wife, Susan, Jonathan and his fiancée, Gosia, and Ashley and her husband, Sean; his two step-children, Elvis and Amoy; and his grandchildren, Rynoa, Kayla, Steven and Derek.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hightstown, 125 Main Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520.
Interment will follow at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hightstown, NJ.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hightstown.
