Steve and I first met at St. Patrick's High school, we lost touch when I transferred to another school. Unbeknownst to us we both went into the Navy. We met up again by sheer coincidence while using our GI Bill to attend Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford NJ. We joined the Veterans club on campus and shared some of our exploits. Upon graduation we lost touch but I still remember Steve as a kind, considerate person who was always willing to give a helping hand. I'm sad that he is gone. he was one of the good guys.

I have so many great memories of Steven. First off, he was so very generous and would always be there to help out in any situation (Friends, Family or Neighbor - he was always there). When my kids were younger, he and Karen would help us with getting baby food inexpensively from the company store. As the years went on Christmas was a time that I was able to see Steven at his most generous. From our Bunko parties with his famous Shrimp Cocktail to all the good wine he would buy so we could enjoy it at his house. He was so thoughtful and generous. Then a few weeks later, he always brought his famous Shrimp to our house and had such a great time at our Christmas Parties. He (being the oldest guest) was probably the most agile and got up on the Kitchen counter with my husband and got into the group photo from standing on the counter! I will surely miss this happy man who always was there with a kiss on the cheek for me. You will always be in our thoughts. Don't worry Steven we will take care of Karen from down here. Until we meet again. Love - Your friend, Michele

I read a book, fiction, "How to Stop Time." Good read and one paragraph resonated: "People you love never die….. Not completely. They live in your mind, the way they always lived inside you. You keep their light alive. If you remember them well enough, they can still guide you, like the shine of long-extinguished stars could guide ships in unfamiliar waters. If you stop mourning them, and start listening to them, they still have the power to change your life. They can, in short, be salvation." Steve would have liked this book.
